SPACE BETWEEN LETTERS
The experimental font presented is composed from the 'counter shapes', the spaces between letters. The 16th century Garamond, a font in handwritten style, is used as starting point because its differentiation between the letters is very marked. Using this font, each counter shape of a combination of two letters is unique. The new font, 'The space between the letters', consists of 780 shapes, which in the right combination make readable letters and words. However, because of the large number of shapes, it is not a practical font, despite its readability, but rather a visually expressive font, allowing typographic experiments.
